Product category :

Stabiliser Systems - BMP II and T 90

BMP II Stabilizer System, 2E36-4, is an all electric drive system used for stabilizing 30 mm automatic gun, 7.62 mm co-axial gun (Machine Gun), mounted on the Infantry Fighting Vehicle (BMP-II). It controls the guns in both Traverse and Elevation for firing at the ground targets on the move and at halt.

The stabilizer provides the semiautomatic traverse and elevation laying when engaging aerial targets at halt. The commanders traverse target designation, make it possible for the commander and operator to operate twin gun mount.

It is having two modes of operations namely Auto and Aided. Aided mode is useful for aerial target at halt. Pulse width modulated H bridge configured amplifiers are used in each channel for driving the motors. As a result of stabilization, Gun retains the present orientation in space when tank moves over broken terrain, while tank hull oscillates vertically and horizontally.

FEATURES

  • It is having facility for both commander and gunner to control Traverse and Elevation drive.
  • TDD is there to align the target in Traverse by commander only.
  • For both traverse as well as elevation it is having electric drive which is almost maintenance free.
  • Interface with FCS will be provided.

WEAPON STABILISER SYSTEM FOR T-90S TANK

BMP II Stabilizer System, 2E36-4, is an all electric drive system used for stabilizing 30 mm automatic gun, 7.62 mm co-axial gun (Machine Gun), mounted on the Infantry Fighting Vehicle (BMP-II). It controls the guns in both Traverse and Elevation for firing at the ground targets on the move and at halt.

The stabilizer provides the semiautomatic traverse and elevation laying when engaging aerial targets at halt. The commanders traverse target designation, make it possible for the commander and operator to operate twin gun mount.

The stabilizer system (Article 2342-4) of T-90S is intended for stabilization and laying of the tank main gun and the paired co-axial gun in Elevation and in Traverse. It is designed to increase the efficiency of fire while the tank is stationary and also on the move for all types of ammunitions in real conditions of tank operation. It consists of Electromechanical Traverse Drive and Electro Hydraulic Elevation Drive

THE TRAVERSE SYSTEM CONSISTS OF

  • Second Distribution Box (K2)
  • Traverse Gyro assembled in gyro Unit
  • Amplidyne
  • Electric Motor

THE ELEVATION SYSTEM CONSISTS OF

  • Elevation Gyro assembled in Gyro Unit
  • Angle Limiter
  • Gun Setting Device (GSD)
  • Feeder Unit
  • Actuating Cylinder

Control Unit (K1) has PCBs for Traverse and Elevation operations separately.

During the movement of the Tank, if the gun under the influence of external disturbance is shifted from the earlier set value , then the power stabilization drives brings the gun to the initial position.

Any external disturbance acting on the Gun is sensed by the gyros and the error voltage is processed in control unit (K1). The output of control unit is fed to the electromagnet windings of the actuating cylinder, wherein a differential current flows. This is converted into a suitable movement of the gun through the Hydraulic drive system consisting of Feeder Unit and actuating cylinder.

The traverse operation is also similar to that of Elevation except that instead of Hydraulic System, an Amplidyne & Electric Motor is used to rotate the turret.

FEATURES

  • All Electric Drive is used for Traverse operation instead of Hydraulic Drive
  • Solid State Electronics is used in Control Unit instead of Value Based circuits
  • Continuous working up to 6 hours
  • Simplified Units for Elevation Hydraulic Drive
  • Weight Reduction form 320 Kg (T-72 Stabiliser) to 200 Kg
