Introduction
Energy Storage is emerging as sunrise sector and part of the clean energy systems of the 21st century. There are substantial business opportunities in the Energy storage segment in the coming years due to huge requirement of high energy storage and maintenance free batteries for Defence, Strategic applications and also for electric vehicles (EV).
Seeing the opportunities, BEL identified Li-ion cells/ batteries and fuel cells as one of the focus areas and created a dedicated micro SBU to address business in a focused manner and further expand its presence in the Energy Storage Products segment, by manufacturing of Li-ion Cells and development / manufacturing of fuel cells. BEL is collaborating with various Public/Private organisations in this area and has signed an MoUs with global companies.
