Advanced Instant Fire detection and Suppression System (AIFDSS) is a 32-bit processor based Fire detection and suppression system.
Two types of sensors are being used for detection of fire:
a) Smart IR detectors are used for detection of fire in the crew compartment.
b) In engine compartment, a pair of linear thermal detector (Fire Wire) is used which continuously monitors the temperature of the engine compartment.
Based on the information sent by Smart IR Detector Units & Fire Wire for crew & engine compartment respectively, the fire extinguishers are actuated. Automated fire extinguishers with Halon 1301 are used for suppression of fire. The Audio visual indications of overheat/fire in respective compartments also glows on display panel.
