BEL has successfully implemented state-wide fibre optic network for the state of Kerala i.e. Kerala Fibre Optic Network (KFON) to connect 30,000+ offices distributed across 14 districts of Kerala. KFON uses Internet Protocol- Multiprotocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS) to construct a packet-switched transport network.
