1.0 INTRODUCTION:

Existing BMP having direct viewing day optics based vintage sighting system which is directly linked to the weapon movement. Besides, it is having IR based night viewing facility having less than 300m visibility during night. Due to this, the first hit accuracy is drastically reduced due to manual adjustment for imparting necessary offset. Also due to the night blindness, the entire operation during night is hampered. In addition to this, existing Konkurs Missile having direct viewing day sight (9SH) for missile guidance due to which it could not be engaged during night. Hence there is a need to upgrade the Sighting and FCS to cater for the current warfare requirement. The solution given below is fully indigenized one.

2.0 SCOPE OF UPGRADE:

A. SIGHTING AND FCS UPGRADE:

1.0 GUNNER’S SIGHT:

• Gimbal – Two axis stabilized Sight
• Thermal Imager – Third Gen 8-12µm 640X512 cooled Sight
• Day Camera – CCD
• Ranging – eye Safe LRF
• Aiming mark – Single aiming mark for all the ammunition
• User Interface – 8.4” Multi Function Display

2.0 COMMANDER’S SIGHT:

• Gimbal – Two axis stabilized Sight
• Thermal Imager – Third Gen 3-5µm 640X512 cooled Sight
• Day Camera – CCD
• Ranging – eye Safe LRF
• Features – Hunter-Killer, independence surveillance all around
• Aiming mark – Single aiming mark for all the ammunition
• User Interface – 8.4” Multi Function Display
• Situational awareness – Video feed from Commander Sight for troopers

3.0 INTEGRATED FIRE CONTROL SYSTEM:

• Hardware – Fire Control Computer with MET Sensor
• Offset – Directly impart to weapon
• Weapon – 30mm Cannon(AP/HE) & 7.62mm PKT
• Interfaces – With existing GCS and Firing interlocks

B. ATGM (MISSILE) UPGRADE:

Existing Konkurs Missile operation upgraded as per the following:

• Launcher operation – Automated and controlled through Control Panel
• 9SH Sight Modification – TI Channel(cooled version) integrated with Day optics
• Engagement – By Gunner and Commander during Day and Night
• Target Engagement/Guidance – MFD of Gunner/Commander
