BEL has manufacturing facility of Solar Cells, Modules and Solar Power Plants at Bengaluru. Further, Company has scaled up its operations from a Cell/Module manufacturing to execution of Solar power plant projects under the Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) / Developer mode.
BEL has grown to become a leading supplier and solution provider of Solar Photovoltaic Systems in India and has presence in more
than 15 states of the Country.
BEL has also been shortlisted by ISRO for manufacturing of Multi-Junction Solar Cells for space application. The plant, with a capacity of about 60,000 multi-junction cells per annum will be set up by ISRO and BEL is to oversee its complete manufacturing operations under GOCO model.
BEL has installed many Systems under the Remote Village Electrification and other programs of MNRE (Govt. of India) across India. Most of the systems are installed in the rural parts of the country where conventional energy is not available or insufficient.

Till date, BEL has set up more than 5 MWp Rooftop Grid Connect Solar Power Plant across BEL units for captive Consumption and around 80MW of Ground Mount Grid Connect Solar Power Plants for various External customers.

BEL manufactured PV Modules are enlisted against Approved List Module Manufacturers of MNRE.
Optimum design of Solar Power Plants with minimum losses and increased yields by using various simulation tools for designing of Plant layouts and analysis of Structure, Shadow and Plant Generation.
All the system components of the Solar Power Plants are type tested as per IEC / BIS.
Remote Monitoring of Plants for better tracking of Plant performance.

BEL has excellent infrastructure for manufacturing Solar cell & Module with installed capacities of 10MW/annum each. Apart from this, BEL has established a wide service network in the country for maintenance of the systems installed.

As part of Business expansion proposal, BEL is exploring “Setting up Giga Watt Scale Vertically Integrated Solar Manufacturing Unit” along with partner, with an intent to meet present & future needs of Solar market which shall also be a major step towards becoming Atmanirbhar and meeting renewable energy targets of the Nation.
