The 2.2M IFF Antenna is a Linear Printed Array realized as a sandwich structure. It consists of stacked patch radiating elements. The stacked patches are fed by a micro strip power divider using aperture feed technique. The IFF Antenna radiates two beams from the same aperture, 1. Interrogate (SUM), 2. Difference /Side Lobe Suppression SLS (∆/ SLS). The Difference beam is a wide beam outside the Interrogate beam used to suppress side lobe responses and scattered radiation over the volume coverage. For suppressing back lobes, a back fill antenna is integrated with the IFF antenna.
