Bengaluru, Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has signed an MoU with Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL), a Defence PSU, to jointly address the requirements of Indian Defence and Export markets. The MoU aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and AWEIL to address domestic and export opportunities in the areas of Air Defence, Artillery Gun Systems, Medium Caliber Weapons, Small Arms and related systems.
Mr Dinesh Kumar Batra, then CMD, BEL, and Mr Ravin Kulshrestha, Director (Finance), AWEIL, exchanged the MoU signed between BEL and AWEIL at Defexpo 2022, in the presence of Mr Bhanu Prakash Srivastava, Director (Other Units), Mr Manoj Jain, Director (R&D), and other senior officers of BEL and AWEIL. AWEIL, one of the seven DPSUs formed by the corporatisation of the erstwhile Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), is a Government of India Enterprise under the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence. It has been incorporated as a Company under Companies Act, 2013, and is engaged in the design, development and manufacture of Defence systems such as Small Arms, Medium Caliber Weapons, Air Defence, Artillery Gun Systems, Ammunition Hardware, etc.
