- BEL is the lead integrator for MRSAM program for Indian Navy. MRSAM is a medium to long range air defence and Anti-Missile Defence Surface to Air Missile (SAM) system, manufactured by BEL in collaboration with Israel Aerospace Industry (IAI), Israel.
- The MRSAM system mainly consists of Mutli-Function Surveillance and Threat Alert (MFSTAR) Radar, Weapon Control System (WCS) and Vertical Launcher Unit (VLU).
- The System offers own-ship point defence as well as neighbouring task-force ships and assets area defence against aircrafts and guided weapons attacks.
Features:
- Capable of detecting and tracking targets viz., Missiles including Anti-Ships Missiles (AshM) and Sea skimming Missiles, Aircrafts and Air to Surface guided munitions.
- Supports task-force creation and operation under JTC (Joint Targeting Control) with other MRSAM equipped ships.
- Build up and management of unified Air Situation Picture (ASP).
- Supports Missile & Gunnery Operation.
- Data link control and inter-ship communication management.
- Active Phased Array MFSTAR to provide surveillance up to 350Km.
- 360 deg azimuth coverage by four Static AESA Antenna Arrays.
- Elevation coverage up to 70 deg.
- Simultaneous engagement of multiple targets.
- MFSTAR can track more than1000 Air targets and 300 Surface Targets.
- Advanced ECCM features and all-weather operational capability.
- Air Targets classification & Helicopter identification/classification.
