Centre Of Excellence (COE) – EW&P
In the three-tier R&D setup of BEL, consisting of CRLs, PDIC and the D&E divisions at Units and SBUs, to keep up with changing business landscape, leverage new opportunities, continue on the growth trajectory, and strengthen the existing R&D structure, the Centre of Excellences (CoEs) have been formed in three technology segments.
- Communication Systems
- Electronic Warfare & Photonics
- Radar & Weapon Systems
CoEs identify technology gaps and bridge these gaps through means of joint development with DRDOs, CRLs, PDIC, Academia and Collaborative R&D with Start-ups, Industry or foreign OEMs.
- Electronic Warfare & Photonics (EW&P
CoE-Electronic Warfare & Photonics undertakes the development of Technology Modules, Products, Systems and System of Systems in Electronic Warfare and Photonics. EW&P leverages the expertise and knowledge of Academia, CRLs and PDIC to develop state-of-the-art EW Systems, Photonic Systems and System of Systems. The CoE is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and test instruments that enable Engineers to develop and innovate.

CoE – EW&P is co-located with PDIC and is headed by Chief Technology Officer (CTO) who provides clear vision, guidance and thrust to steer the CoE – EW&P in attaining a leadership position in Products, Systems and Technology.
