BEL & IAI, Israel, form Joint Venture Company

Bengaluru, October 4, 2024: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Israel’s leading aerospace and defence company, have announced the establishment of a joint venture company (JVC), which has been incorporated in the name of BEL IAI AeroSystems Private Ltd.

The JVC with its registered office in Delhi shall be the single point of contact (SPOC) for extending long-term product support to the Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM) systems of India’s Defence Forces.

The partnership marks another significant step in cementing the relationship between the two companies that have a long history of association for strategic programmes. BEL and IAI are collaborating in several joint programmes for the Tri-services.

The JVC has been set up for providing life cycle support, both technical and maintenance related, for MRSAM air-defence systems of the country.

MRSAM is an advanced, path-breaking air and missile defence system that provides protection against a variety of aerial threats. It was jointly developed by IAI and DRDO for India’s Defence Forces and is currently used by the Indian Air Force, Indian Army, Indian Navy and also Israeli Defence Forces. The system includes an Advanced Phased Array Radar, Command and Control shelter, mobile launchers and interceptors with an advanced RF seeker.

The formation of the JVC is in line with the Indian Government’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The JVC will leverage the capabilities of both IAI and BEL.

BEL receives orders worth over Rs. 500 Cr

Bengaluru, October 7, 2024: Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has secured additional orders of more than Rs. 500 Crores since its last disclosure on September 11, 2024.

The major orders received include EMI shelters, AMC for Integrated Air Command and Control System nodes, upgrade / spares for gun systems, spares for radars, communication system, etc. With these orders, BEL has now accumulated orders totalling Rs. 7,689 Cr in the current financial year.

BEL registers 39% growth in PAT during 1st Half of FY 2024-25

Thiruvananthapuram/Bengaluru, October 25, 2024: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has achieved a Turnover of Rs. 8,530.43 Cr during the 1st half of FY 2024-25, registering a growth of 15.83% over the Turnover of Rs. 7,364.82 Cr recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

During the 2nd Quarter of FY 2024-25, BEL achieved a Turnover of Rs. 4,425.29 Cr as against Rs. 3,918.13 Cr recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Profit Before Tax (PBT) during the 1st half of FY 2024-25 stood at Rs. 2,488.22 Cr, with a growth of 40.05% over the PBT of Rs. 1,776.69 Cr recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

During the 2nd Quarter of FY 2024-25, PBT stood at Rs. 1,450.88 Cr as against Rs. 1,072.94 Cr recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Profit After Tax (PAT) during the 1st half of FY 2024-25 stood at Rs. 1,867.41 Cr, with a growth of 39.03% over the PAT of Rs. 1,343.18 Cr recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

During the 2nd Quarter of FY 2024-25, PAT stood at Rs. 1,091.27 Cr as against Rs. 812.34 Cr recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

The order book position of the company as on 1st October, 2024, stood at Rs. 74,595 Cr.

Major orders include maintenance of Akash Missile System, telescopic sights for guns, communication equipment, jammers, electronic voting machines, test stations, spares, services, etc. With these orders, BEL has now accumulated orders totalling Rs.8,828 Crores in the current financial year.

New CVO takes charge at BEL

Bengaluru, December 10, 2024: Mr Nilabhra Sengupta, IRSSE (1997 batch), has taken charge as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) on deputation.

Mr Nilabhra Sengupta completed his B.E in Electronics & Telecommunications from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, in 1996 and joined the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers two years later.

Before taking over as CVO of BEL, Mr Sengupta was serving as Chief Signal and Telecom Engineer/Projects at Metro Railway, Kolkata. He was also holding additional charge of Director (Rolling Stock and Systems) in Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation. He has served as ADRM Operations in Eastern Railway, Howrah division, and has also been on deputation to RITES and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation from 2014 to 2017.

Mr Nilabhra Sengupta has a vast work experience of more than 25 years with the Govt. of India, in diverse areas such as Signalling and Telecommunications, Safety of Train Operations, Metro Technologies, Budget, Procurement, General Administration, Personnel Management and IT.

BEL contributes Rs. 1.89 Cr to Kerala Flood Relief

Bengaluru/Thiruvananthapuram, December 23, 2024: The employees of Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) have generously contributed Rs. 1.89 Crores towards the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (Kerala).

Shri Damodar Bhattad, Director (Finance), and Shri Vikraman N, Director (HR), BEL, handed over the cheque for Rs. 1,89,13,013/- (Rupees One Crore Eighty Nine Lakhs Thirteen Thousand and Thirteen Rupees) to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, at Thiruvananthapuram today. Shri Anoop Nair, Chief of Security Services, BEL, was also present.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister appreciated BEL and its employees for the noble gesture.

Bharat Electronics Limited pays Rs.299.03 Crore Final Dividend to Government of India

Mr Manoj Jain, Chairman & Managing Director, Bharat Electronics Limited, presented the 80% final dividend cheque of Rs.299,03,37,547.20/- (Rupees Two Hundred Ninety Nine Crore Three Lakh Thirty Seven Thousand Five Hundred and Forty Seven Point Two Zero Only), payable on the shares held by the President of India, to the Honorable Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh, at New Delhi on  October 29, 2024. The Company had paid the First Interim Dividend of 70% (on face value of Rs.1 per equity share) in February 2024 and the Second Interim Dividend of 70% (on face value of Rs.1 per equity share) in March 2024. The Company has thus paid a total dividend of 220% on its paid-up capital for the year 2023-24.

BEL & SAC, ISRO, sign MoU for productionisation of space-grade TWTAs in India

Bengaluru, September 30, 2024: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Space Applications Centre (SAC), ISRO, Ahmedabad, have signed an MoU to collaborate, indigenise and develop infrastructure for the productionisation of space-grade Travelling Wave Tube Amplifiers (TWTAs) in India. Signed at SAC Ahmedabad, the MoU will give a boost to the indigenisation of defence and space production and save foreign exchange for the country.

TWTA is a complex multi-disciplinary technology involving controlled interaction of microwave with electron beam under ultrahigh vacuum conditions. State-of-the-art fabrication and manufacturing facility for TWTAs has been established at BEL.

TWTAs developed by SAC, ISRO, and manufactured by BEL will be used in satellite communication and navigation payloads, microwave remote sensing radar payloads, scientific missions or probes and inter-spacecraft communications links. These items are integral parts of various communication and microwave remote sensing payloads.

BEL signs Teaming Agreement with Reliasat Inc. Canada to make a foray into space domain

Bengaluru, September 19, 2024: Navaratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) today signed a Teaming Agreement with Reliasat Inc. Canada to collaborate in the area of space products.

The Teaming Agreement aims at leveraging BEL and Reliasat’s capabilities in the domain of space. This is a significant step that will enable BEL to foray into the space segment, in line with the Government of India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make-in-India’ initiatives, and strengthen its existing portfolio.

The Teaming Agreement was signed at BEL’s Corporate Office in Bengaluru by Mr K V Suresh Kumar, Director (Marketing), and Mr Gurvinder Chohan, CEO, Reliasat Inc.
