Q1 Result: BEL registers a growth of 25% in PAT (YOY)

Bengaluru, July 28, 2025: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has achieved Revenue from operations of Rs. 4416.83 Cr, registering a growth of 5.19% during the 1st Quarter of FY 2025-26 over the Revenue from operations of Rs. 4198.77 Cr recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Profit Before Tax (PBT) during the 1st Quarter of FY 2025-26 stood at
Rs. 1289.24 Cr, with a growth of 24.28% over the Profit Before Tax (PBT) of Rs. 1037.34 Cr recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Profit After Tax (PAT) during the 1st Quarter of FY 2025-26 stood at Rs. 969.13 Cr, with a growth of 24.87% over the Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 776.14 Cr recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

The order book position of the company as on 1st July 2025 stood at Rs. 74859 Cr.

BEL receives Rs. 1,640 Cr order for Air Defence Fire Control Radars (Atulya) from Indian Army

Bengaluru, July 25, 2025: Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a contract with the Ministry of Defence valued at Rs. 1,640 Cr (excluding taxes) for supply of Air Defence Fire Control Radars to Indian Army. These indigenous radars designed by DRDO and manufactured by BEL provide effective defence against air threats during day and night under all weather conditions. These radars having inbuilt ECM capabilities are used for surveillance, acquisition, tracking of air targets and control of air defence guns for effective neutralisation. The system is modular by design and is easy to deploy, operate and maintain.

Mr Kamesh Kasana assumes charge as Director (Other Units) of BEL

Bengaluru, July 15, 2025: Mr Kamesh Kasana took charge as Director (Other Units) of Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) on July 14, 2025.  He was working as General Manager of BEL’s Military Communication Strategic Business Unit (SBU) in Bengaluru prior to his elevation.

Mr Kamesh Kasana, who joined BEL in 1993, brings with him over three decades of distinguished experience in Defence electronics. Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions to the indigenisation, modernisation, and strategic growth of BEL’s portfolio, playing a vital role in strengthening India’s Defence capabilities.

An alumnus of NIT Kurukshetra with a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mr Kasana also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and is certified in Six Sigma (Green Belt, DMAIC) and as a Project Management Professional (PMP). His career reflects a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen and visionary leadership.

Mr Kasana has successfully led key Defence programmes, including the Indian Army’s Air Defence Control and Reporting System (Akashteer) and Battlefield Surveillance Systems, as well as critical C4I systems for the Indian Navy’s surface ships and submarines. His efforts have contributed to BEL securing and executing large-scale orders worth several thousand crores, while simultaneously promoting indigenisation, cost reduction, and support for MSMEs and start-ups in alignment with the national vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

As General Manager and Business Head of BEL’s Military Communication Strategic Business Unit at Bengaluru, he played a decisive role in the SBU achieving a turnover of over ₹1000 crore for two consecutive years, driving operational restructuring, product innovation, and enhanced customer engagement. His initiatives helped BEL build stronger partnerships, improve delivery timelines, and ensure sustainable business growth.

In his new role as Director (Other Units), Mr Kasana envisions transforming BEL’s other units into centres of technological excellence, resilience, and global competitiveness. His priorities include accelerating innovation through cutting-edge R&D, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, space technologies, and quantum computing; strengthening operational efficiency and supply chain robustness; deepening collaborations with DRDO, ISRO, private industry, MSMEs, and global partners; and advancing BEL’s commitment to renewable energy and sustainability.

Mr Kasana’s leadership is expected to drive BEL’s mission to empower India’s Defence ecosystem, while ensuring sustained growth, customer satisfaction, and national security in an increasingly complex global environment.

Mr Hari Kumar R takes charge as Director (R&D), BEL

Bengaluru, May 2, 2025: Mr Hari Kumar R took charge as Director (R&D) of Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) today. He was serving as General Manager (Technology Planning) prior to being elevated to the Board.

Mr Hari Kumar joined BEL on May 1, 1989, as a Probationary Engineer after completing his B. Tech. (Electronics & Communication) from the College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

In a career spanning over three and a half decades, he has primarily been in Development and Engineering (D&E), supporting manufacturing activities at BEL with high-quality designs and engineering documentation.

He was a part of the teams that developed India’s first 65-Kelvin C-band and Extended-C-band Low Noise Amplifiers for Satcom earth stations of VSNL & Doordarshan. His teams also were the first to develop transmitters based on Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology for both communications & radar applications along with C-Band Quad Transmit-Receive (T/R) Modules for phased array radars and solid-state replacements for microwave tube amplifiers.

During the first wave of COVID-19 in 2020, he led teams which got BEL certified to the ISO 13485:2016 Medical Standard in 45 days, and BEL’s ICU Ventilator System third-party evaluated, before successfully completing the Pre Dispatch Inspection of 30,000 Ventilator Systems (comprising 1.5 Lakh sub-systems) in 3 ½ months.

During 2020-22, he also played a key role in the turnaround of Components SBU, including speeding up procurement and ramping up production across multiple product groups. As GM (Technology Planning), he focussed on overseeing and speeding up R&D processes and projects.

His teams have filed multiple patent applications and won multiple BEL R&D Awards, plus SODET and Raksha Mantri Awards. A team player —with varied experience in D&E, ToT absorption, knowledge management, production & procurement — he believes that every function needs to be valued and nurtured for BEL to achieve its goals. He attributes all his learning, performance and growth to exceptionally committed past and present seniors and colleagues.

BEL receives Rs.2,210 Crores order for Electronic Warfare (EW) Suite from Indian Air Force

Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a contract with Ministry of Defence valued at Rs.2,210 Crores (excluding taxes) for supply of EW Suite for Mi 17 V5 Helicopters of Indian Air Force. These systems are indigenously designed and developed by CASDIC, DRDO and manufactured by BEL. The EW Suite comprises Radar Warning Receiver (RWR), Missile Approach Warning System (MAWS) and Counter Measure Dispensing System (CMDS) which significantly enhance the combat survivability of the helicopters along with effective counter measures.

With this, BEL has now accumulated orders totalling Rs.2,803 Crores in the current financial year.

BEL receives orders worth Rs.593.22 Crores

Bengaluru, April 2, 2025: Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a contract with Indian Air Force valued at Rs.593.22 Crores (excluding taxes) for providing maintenance services for the Akash Missile System, which was supplied by BEL.

With this, BEL has commenced the current financial year 2025-26 with Rs.593.22 Crores order acquisition.

Further, the Company has concluded negotiations with customers for acquisition of orders worth Rs.5,000 Crores (Rupees five thousand crores).

BEL achieves record turnover of Rs.23,000 Crores

Bengaluru, April 1, 2025: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has achieved a turnover of around Rs.23,000 Cr (Provisional & Unaudited), during the Financial Year 2024-25, against the previous year’s turnover of Rs.19,820 Cr registering a growth of 16%. This includes Export sales of around US$ 106 Million during FY 2024-25, as against the previous year’s export turnover of US$ 92.98 Million, registering a growth of 14%.

 

In the fiscal year 2024-25, BEL secured orders worth Rs.18,715 Cr. Some of the major orders received during the year are BMP II Upgrade, Ashwini Radar, Software Defined Radios, Data link, Multi-Function Radars, EON 51, Seekers, Anti Drone System, Airport Surveillance Radar, Sonar Upgradation, Flycatcher spares, Radar upgradation, Spares and Services, etc, and other projects in Non-defence sector. With this, the total Order Book of BEL as on April 1st, 2025, stands at around Rs.71,650 Cr including Export Order Book of USD 359 Million.

BEL receives orders worth Rs.843 Crore

Bengaluru, March 10, 2025: Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has secured additional orders worth Rs.843 Crore since the last disclosure on 6 March 2025.

Major orders include RF seekers, vessel and air traffic management system, electro optic repair facility, radar upgradation, spares, services, etc. With these, the total accumulated orders received by BEL during the current financial year stand at Rs.14,567 Crore.

BEL & IAI, Israel, form Joint Venture Company

Bengaluru, October 4, 2024: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Israel’s leading aerospace and defence company, have announced the establishment of a joint venture company (JVC), which has been incorporated in the name of BEL IAI AeroSystems Private Ltd.

The JVC with its registered office in Delhi shall be the single point of contact (SPOC) for extending long-term product support to the Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM) systems of India’s Defence Forces.

The partnership marks another significant step in cementing the relationship between the two companies that have a long history of association for strategic programmes. BEL and IAI are collaborating in several joint programmes for the Tri-services.

The JVC has been set up for providing life cycle support, both technical and maintenance related, for MRSAM air-defence systems of the country.

MRSAM is an advanced, path-breaking air and missile defence system that provides protection against a variety of aerial threats. It was jointly developed by IAI and DRDO for India’s Defence Forces and is currently used by the Indian Air Force, Indian Army, Indian Navy and also Israeli Defence Forces. The system includes an Advanced Phased Array Radar, Command and Control shelter, mobile launchers and interceptors with an advanced RF seeker.

The formation of the JVC is in line with the Indian Government’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The JVC will leverage the capabilities of both IAI and BEL.
