BEL receives orders worth Rs. 732 Crore

Bengaluru, October 30, 2025: Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has secured additional orders worth Rs. 732 Crore since the last disclosure on 22nd October 2025. Major orders received include Software Defined Radios (SDRs), tank sub systems, communication equipment, missile components, financial management software, cyber security solution, upgrades, spares, services, etc.

The Software Defined Radios are the first fully indigenous radios, jointly designed and developed with DRDO and manufactured by BEL. These state-of-the art SDRs are interoperable with existing/legacy radios and facilitate smooth transition between technologies. These cutting-edge technology SDRs will ensure secure, real-time communications and strengthen the Army’s operational readiness in today’s challenging network-centric battlefields.

BEL, CSIR-CEERI ink MoU to indigenously develop advanced technologies critical to nation’s defence

Bengaluru, October 10, 2025: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a leading Indian aerospace and defence company, and CSIR-Central Electronic Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CEERI), a constituent research laboratory of CSIR engaged in R&D of a wide range of electronics products/systems, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the design and development of Microwave Vacuum Electron Devices (MVEDs), RF and MW products, futuristic Antennas, MEMS based products for radar, communication, space and other defence applications. This strategic partnership aims to strengthen efforts towards fostering indigenous design in advanced technology domains critical to national defence.

Mrs Niti Pandit, General Manager (Strategic Planning), BEL, and Dr Niraj Sinha, Principal Scientist, CSIR-CEERI, exchanged the MoU documents on the Foundation Day of CSIR-CEERI in the presence of senior officials from BEL and CSIR-CEERI, at CEERI Institute Pilani, Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan.

BEL & IIM-Kozhikode Sign MoU to Foster Leadership Development and Management Excellence

Bengaluru/Kozhikode, October 17, 2025: Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL), a leading Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, and The Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIMK), one of India’s premier management institutions, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance leadership development, management expertise, and business acumen among BEL executives.

The MoU envisions a series of customised Professional Post Graduate Diploma (PPGD) programmes designed by IIM-Kozhikode to nurture a capable and future-ready talent pool within BEL. In the initial phase, the collaboration will focus on themes such as Supply Chain Management, Marketing Management and General Management, and then expand to add other themes as per the requirement of BEL and the evolving business landscape. These programmes aim to equip BEL executives with cutting-edge management learning, strategic thinking abilities, and domain-enriching expertise that align with BEL’s long-term growth and leadership vision in an increasingly dynamic and competitive environment.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Mr N Vikraman, Director (HR), BEL and Prof Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM-Kozhikode. Senior officials from both organisations were also present at the signing ceremony.

Directors from both organisations expressed their delight over this landmark MoU, noting that the collaboration marked a significant milestone in the long-standing partnership between BEL & IIM-K and reflected a shared commitment to nurturing leadership in India’s strategic sectors. The Professional Post Graduate Diploma Programme series has been carefully curated to help BEL professionals grow into mindful, resilient, and visionary leaders who can steer the organisation through the challenges of a rapidly changing business and defence landscape.

Hon’ble Prime Minister dedicates to nation BEL’s Advanced Night Vision Products Factory at Nimmaluru, AP

Bengaluru/Nimmaluru, October 16, 2025: The Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today dedicated the Advanced Night Vision Products Factory established by Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) at Nimmaluru, Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, at an investment of around Rs. 362 Crore.

Shri N Chadrababu Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri S Abdul Nazeer, Hon’ble Governor of Andhra Pradesh, and Shri Pawan Kalyan, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, graced the occasion. Shri Manoj Jain, CMD, BEL, and Shri Jitendra Singh, GM (DCCS), BEL, were also present.

This defence production facility fulfils the Indian Defence requirements of night enablement by manufacturing advanced Electro Optic systems, Infrared Seekers for indigenously developed missiles and different types of anti drone systems, reinforcing self-reliance in defence production and promoting skilled employment in the region.

The Nimmaluru plant focuses primarily on the production of night vision devices such as Image Intensifiers, Thermal Imaging Systems and other electro-optical products which are crucial for surveillance, reconnaissance and combat operations of the Defence forces in low-light and nighttime conditions.

Spanning 50 acres of land, the new facility is designed to support the most advanced manufacturing processes. It incorporates key considerations in its design, including efficient material and manpower movement, and integration of Industry 4.0 technologies, all aimed at improving productivity, reducing lead time and ensuring high-quality output in the production of night vision systems. It has a Clean Room area of 5,800 Sqm, a critical feature for ensuring contamination-free environment for the assembly and testing of sensitive opto-electronic components.

This expansion represents a significant step forward in BEL’s efforts to become a global leader in opto-electronics, particularly in the development of next-generation night vision technologies that are essential for modern defence forces.
