BEL Showcases Advanced Defence Solutions at Exercise PRAGATI 2026

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is showcasing its products and capabilities at the Indian Defence Industry Equipment Display being organised as part of Exercise PRAGATI (Partnership of Regional Armies for Growth & Transformation in the Indian Ocean Region) at the Foreign Training Node, Umroi, Shillong, Meghalaya, from May 30- 31, 2026.

Today, Vice Army Chiefs and delegations from various Friendly Foreign Nations visited BEL stall. Team BEL briefed the visitors on the Company’s products, technological capabilities and pitched for potential collaboration in the defence sector.

BEL signs MoU with FSID-IISc

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Foundation for Science, Innovation and Development (FSID), established by Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru to collaborate on innovation and technology development initiatives under BEL’s Corporate Innovation Program (CIP) fostering collaboration with Startups/Academia/MSMEs. The MoU underscores BEL’s commitment to advancing indigenous technological capabilities in aerospace and defence sectors. By partnering with FSID-IISc, BEL seeks to leverage leading innovation and cutting edge R&D to enhance the country’s strategic and operational capabilities in aerospace and defence. The signing of the MoU highlights BEL’s proactive approach towards engagement of stakeholders and continued commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat.

BEL receives order worth Rs. 608 Crore

Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), has secured additional orders worth Rs. 608 Cr. since the last disclosure on 5th May 2026. Major orders received include communication equipment, avionics, information fusion centre, coastal surveillance radar system, seekers, jammers,  tank sub systems, laser based fuzes, simulators, medical electronics, batteries, spares, services etc.

New CVO takes charge at BEL

Dr. P M Saravanan, IPoS (2000 Batch) took charge as Chief Vigilance Officer, BEL on 14.05.2026. He is on deputation for 3 years.

Prior to joining BEL, the officer served as General Manager, Centre for Excellence in Postal Technology, Bengaluru, where he was responsible for handling major IT projects of the Department of Posts for a period of five years.

He also headed the data centre operations at the UIDAI Technology Centre, Bengaluru,  for five years, thereby gaining rich experience in technology operations, IT infrastructure management, data centre administration, and large-scale mission-critical systems.

In the earlier stages of his career, the officer held important field and administrative assignments. He served as Postal Divisional Head at Nellore, Vijayawada, and Hyderabad. He also held key regional-level positions, including Regional Director, Southern Region, Tamil Nadu, Regional Director, South Karnataka Region and Director HQ, Bengaluru. In addition, he briefly served as Regional Head, South Karnataka Region.

The officer thus brings with him a broad and well-rounded professional experience spanning administration, field operations, region management, data centre operations, IT infrastructure management, and implementation of large-scale technology projects.

The officer has a multidisciplinary academic background with qualifications in Agriculture, Microbiology, Information Technology, public policy, management, and law.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and a Master’ s degree in Agricultural Microbiology from the Agricultural College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. He was awarded a PH.D in Microbiology by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi.

He also holds a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) from Madurai Kamaraj University, a Post graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and a Master of Business Laws (MBL) from National Law School of India University, Bengaluru.

His academic profile reflects a unique blend of expertise in Science, Technology, Public Policy, management and law supporting his leadership in technology-driven public administration and institutional governance.

Mr Sabhari V, AGM (Finance)/CO, and Mr Gopal, Deputy Company Secretary, received the award for BEL at the awards ceremony held yesterday in Mumbai.

BEL receives Rs. 1,251 Cr order for supply of Ground Based Mobile ELINT System (GBMES) to Indian Army

Bengaluru, May 5, 2026: Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a contract with the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, valued at Rs. 1,251 Crore (excluding taxes) for supply of Ground Based Mobile ELINT System (GBMES) to the Indian Army. The GBMES is a totally indigenous, state-of-the-art system designed and developed by DLRL, Hyderabad, and manufactured by BEL.

The networked intelligence system is capable of detecting, classifying and locating all types of radars. The system also intercepts and analyses all communication signals. The GBMES system enhances the situational awareness and Air Defence capabilities of the country.

Bengaluru, May 4, 2026: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Metamind Systems Private Limited and Kristellar Aerospace Private Limited today signed a tripartite MoU in Bengaluru for co-operation and co-development of future-ready products and technologies in the areas of Cyber Security, Electronic Warfare &Avionics, Semiconductors, Data Centre, etc, for both Defence and Non-Defence segments.

Metamind is an Indian technology firm specialising in AI-driven Data Analytics and Digital Transformation solutions for sectors like Aerospace, Defense, Healthcare Information Technology (IT) and IT Enabled Services (ITES). Kristellar is a next-generation Indian Aerospace & Defence technology startup engaged in the design, development and manufacture of mission-critical products/systems/solutions in Aerospace and Defence technologies, in the areas of Cyber Security, Electronic Warfare & Avionics (EW&A), Semiconductor, Data Center, etc. Kristellar’s business portfolio encompasses CubeSat Systems & Mission Delivery, Aerospace Propulsion, Radar, RF, EW & Secure Communications, AI and Cognitive Defence Systems.

BEL signs MoU with BMIT Pvt Limited to boost indigenous design & production strengths in advanced defence tech

Bangalore, April 21, 2026: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a leading Indian aerospace and defence company, and Bit Mapper Integration Technologies Pvt Ltd (BMIT), a global provider of Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) solutions, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the design, development and manufacturing of advanced electronic modules, subsystems, and systems for defence electronics and aerospace, specifically targeting critical technology domains such as Electronic Warfare (EW), Naval Radars and Drones.

BEL secures manufacturing license for its RxT17 Hemodialysis Machine

Bengaluru, April 3, 2026: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has obtained the Licence to Manufacture (for sale/distribution) its indigenously developed Hemodialysis machine, BEL RxT17.

BEL RxT17, designed by M/s Renalyx and to be manufactured by BEL, is one of India’s first indigenous Hemodialysis machines, a significant milestone for India’s Medtech sector. It is a boon for patients suffering from chronic renal failure, facilitating safe, efficient and high-quality dialysis therapy. The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) granted BEL the manufacturing license after the compliance audit for Class C regulatory requirements pertaining to high-risk device safety and performance standards. BEL RxT17 is CE Certified, confirming compliance with European safety, health and environmental standards, and enabling its global market acceptance.

 

Driven by a surge in the cases of End-Stage Renal Disease, the demand for dialysis is increasing rapidly in India, and the BEL RxT17 aims to improve accessibility and affordability of dialysis care.
