BEL signs MoU with AVNL (AVANI)

Bengaluru, November 18, 2022: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has signed an MoU with Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL/AVANI), a Defence PSU, to jointly address the requirements of Indian Defence and Export markets.

The MoU aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and AVNL (AVANI) to address domestic and export opportunities in the areas of Combat Vehicles, Main Battle Tanks (MBTs), Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs), Armored Fighting Vehicles (AFVs) and related systems.

Mr Dinesh Kumar Batra, then CMD, BEL, and Mr A N Srivastava, CMD, AVNL/AVANI, exchanged the MoU signed between BEL and AVANI at Defexpo 2022, in the presence of Mr Bhanu Prakash Srivastava, Director (Other Units), BEL, Mr Sanjay Dwivedi, Director (Operations), AVNL, Mr Manoj Jain, Director (R&D), BEL, Mr Manoj Kumar, Executive Director, BEL, and other senior officers of BEL and AVANI.

About AVNL/AVANI

AVNL is a Public Sector Undertaking under the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, Government of India (carved out of the erstwhile Ordnance Factory Board), and possesses modern infrastructure and capability of designing and building sophisticated Armoured Fighting Vehicles such as Tanks, Infantry Combat Vehicle, Mine Protected Vehicles (MPV), Logistics Vehicles, etc. AVNL has the complete wherewithal for manufacturing of T-72 and T-90 Tanks, MBT Arjun, Bridge Layer Tank, Trawl, BMP- II & its variants, MPV 4×4, MPV 6×6, Stallion 5/7.5 T, LPTA 2.5 T, Close Range Naval Gun (CRN-91), Naval Decoy Launcher Kavach, High Power Engines and Transmission Assemblies for all these vehicles.

BEL signs LAToT with DRDL, IRDE, for manufacture of Laser Based End Game Fuze

Bengaluru, November 18, 2022: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has signed an LAToT with DRDO labs DRDL, Hyderabad, and IRDE, Dehradun, for the manufacture of Laser Based End Game Fuze (LBEGF).

Laser Based End Game Fuze is a sub-system of a missile, used to generate detonation pulse at detection of target of interest. It is an assembly of Laser Proximity Sensor and End Game Processor. Laser Proximity Sensor is used to measure target range and sector information, while End Game processor processes the range data provided by LPF using algorithm and produce detonation pulse.

Signing of this LAToT will enable BEL to undertake manufacturing of LBEGF at its state- of-the-art facility at Pune, where various high-end and mission-critical EO and laser systems are being manufactured for the past three decades.

About DRDL, DRDO

Defence Research & Development Laboratory (DRDL) is responsible for the design and development of state-of-the-art Missile Systems and technologies required for the defence of the country. DRDL is working on several technologies required for missiles and strategic systems including Aerodynamics and Airframe Design, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Solid, Liquid, Ramjet and Scramjet Propulsion, Precision Fabrication, Systems Analysis, as well as Command and Control systems for missile based weapon systems.

Instruments Research and Development Establishment (IRDE) is engaged in research, design, development and technology transfer in optical and electro-optical instrumentation primarily for the Defence Services.

BEL signs JDA with IIT Madras

Bengaluru, November 18, 2022: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) for co-operation in the field of Quantum Science and Technology. The JDA aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and IITM in the area of Quantum Science Technology development.

BEL signs MoU with SVC TECH VENTURES LLP

Bengaluru, November 14, 2022: NavratnaDefence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has signed anMoU with SVC TECH VENTURES LLP for co-operation in the manufacturing and marketing of Heavy Duty Blast Doors.

The MoU aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and SVC TECH VENTURES LLP. It will enable the two companies to collaborate as partners in the design/development of new and improved Heavy Duty Blast Doors for the protection of Defence establishments and national assets.

About SVC TECH VENTURES LLP

SVC TECH is engaged in the development and indigenous manufacture of Blast Proof Doors certified by an international testing agency as well as by CFEES, DRDO. Some facilities of the Ministry of Defence, critical to the security of the nation, require blast proof doors which can withstand large pressure and fragment impact to protect vital national assets. Such blast proof doors are complex and huge, with size specifications as large as 18M X 7.5M, weighing nearly 150 tons and some larger than these.

BEL celebrates Swachhta Pakhwada

Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is celebrating Swachhta Pakhwada at all Units, SBUs and offices across India from December 1-15, 2022.

Swachhta Pakhwada celebrations at BEL’s Corporate Office in Bengaluru got kick- started today with the Swachhta Pledge being taken by all employees, led by Mr Bhanu Prakash Srivastava, CMD, BEL, and Mr Manoj Jain, Director (R&D). The pledge was administered to employees in three languages: Kannada, Hindi and English.

This was followed by a march-past with employees carrying placards advocating cleanliness, like “Live Life Cleaner; Make Earth Greener” and “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”.

Hindustan Shipyard Ltd is a premier shipbuilding organisation under the Ministry of Defence catering to the needs of shipbuilding, ship repairs, submarine construction and refits as well as design and construction of offshore and onshore structures. Bengaluru, November 15, 2022: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has signed an MoU with Yantra India Limited (YIL), a Defence PSU for co-operation in the areas of Ammunition Hardware and Military Grade Components to jointly address the requirements of Indian Defence and Export markets.

The MoU aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and YIL and sharing of manufacturing and Test infrastructure/resources for the production of Arms and Ammunition and related systems.

About YIL

Yantra India Limited is an Indian state-owned Defence company, established in 2021 as part of the restructuring and corporatisation of the Ordnance Factory Board into multiple Public Sector Undertakings. YIL has its production facilities at eight locations and primarily manufacture specialised components and equipment required for the manufacture of hardware for small to high caliber ammunitions, rockets, bombs, fuzes, etc. It also produces special grade steel and aluminum alloy forgings/castings/extrusions etc.

BEL signs MoU with Spacefaring Technologies Pvt Ltd

Bengaluru, November 15, 2022: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has signed an MoU with Spacefaring Technologies Pvt Ltd for co-operation in technology development in the field of fabric-based Radome, Shelters, deployable space habitats, aerostat, etc, for Defence and non-Defence applications.

The MoU aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and Spacefaring. It will enable both the companies to address the diverse needs of the Indian Defence forces and civilian customers for protection of personnel and critical defense assets, rapidly-deployable unpressurised and pressurised radomes, next- generation aerostat airborne long-range surveillance platform system.

About Spacefaring Technologies Pvt Ltd

Spacefaring Technologies Pvt Ltd is a start-up based out of Bangalore engaged in the design, development and production of a variety of soft goods or deployable/inflatable systems for critical defence and space exploration applications not limited to advanced shelters for extreme environments, unpressurised and pressurised radomes, aerostats, deployable space habitats, micrometeoroid, and orbital debris ballistic shielding.
